Each time you start your vehicle, a self-check system with an indicator light alerts you that the system is working. Seat-Mounted Side-Impact Air Bag** In addition to dual front air bags, Regal has, as available, the added safety of driver side-impact airbag to protect against certain injuries in the event of a moderate or severe side impact. Upper Rear Child Seat Anchors** By fastening the rear tether or belt on a child seat to the upper anchor located behind the rear seats, this new feature allows a child seat to be securely attached to the body of the car. Safety Belt Cinch Capability for Child Seats** The safety belt cinch capability allows the shoulder and lap safety belts to be cinched in order to attach a child restraint seat safely in the rear seat. Adjustable Shoulder Belts** To make shoulder belts more comfortable for users of all sizes, the Regal features adjustable front safety belt shoulder guide loops. **A NOTE ON CHILD SAFETY: Always use safety belts and proper child restraints even with airbags. Children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat of any vehicle equipped with an active airbag. Programmable Door Locks One of our Personal Choice Programmable Features designed to enhance Regal's driver and passenger security, comfort and luxury, memory door locks enable Regal owners to program the automatic door lock system in four different modes. Memory Door Locks can be set to perform a variety of tasks-including automatically locking all doors when the driver shifts the vehicle out of PARK. Child Security Door Locks To prevent children from accidentally opening the vehicle's doors from inside, Regal enables you to engage the lock-out feature from the inside of the rear door, then doors can only be opened from the outside. Power Window Lockout Another of the Personal Choice Programmable Features, the power window lockout feature enables the driver to prevent front and rear passengers from opening and closing the Regal's windows. Brake/Transmission Shift Interlock The brake/transmission shift interlock feature is designed to help prevent accidental shifting of the car into gear. To shift the Regal out of "Park," the driver must press the brake pedal. Steering Wheel Controls Available steering wheel controls enable Regal drivers make adjustments to the radio while keeping their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road. Rear Window Defogger This feature improves vision through the rear window by using heat to remove condensed moisture from the glass. PASS-Key II Passive Theft-Deterrent System With this system, any attempt to start your Regal without the correct coded key is denied by software programmed into the Regal's Powertrain Control Module. Tinted Glass Windshield Solar-Ray® solar-controlled glass in all Regal windshields and rear windows system helps to reduce the transmission of both infrared and ultraviolet rays thereby giving drivers and passengers reduced glare. Steel Cage Construction To contribute to occupant safety, a steel safety cage structure helps preserve the integrity of the passenger compartment in a collision. Crumple zones in the front and rear control crush on impact, absorbing the energy of the crash while the steel cage construction remains rigid thereby helping to protect occupants inside the passenger compartment.
